Privacy Policy — Fiber Label

Fiber Label ("the App") helps Shopify merchants generate EU textile fibre-composition labels. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected.

1. Information we access

With the merchant's authorization (scope write_products), the App reads and writes product data in the merchant's store: product titles, descriptions, types, tags, and product metafields. The App writes generated fibre-composition labels to a product metafield (fiberlabel.composition).

The App does not request, access, or store customer personal data, orders, or payment information.

2. Information we store

• Authentication sessions: Shopify access tokens and shop domain, required to operate the embedded app. Stored in our application database.
• Generated labels: stored as product metafields within the merchant's own Shopify store (not copied to our servers beyond processing).

3. AI processing (third-party processor)

To draft a fibre-composition suggestion, the App sends the relevant product text (title, description, type, tags) to Anthropic's Claude API for extraction. No customer personal data is sent. The final regulated label text is produced by a deterministic rules engine, not by AI, and is confirmed by the merchant before saving. 4. Data retention & deletion

Authentication sessions are retained while the App is installed and deleted when the App is uninstalled. We honor Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:

• customers/data_request and customers/redact: the App stores no customer personal data, so there is no customer data to return or erase.
• shop/redact: the App deletes the shop's stored sessions.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell or share merchant data with third parties, except the AI processor described in Section 3 strictly for the purpose of drafting fibre-composition suggestions.

6. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access tokens are stored in a secured application database and used only to operate the App.

7. Compliance disclaimer

The App assists with preparing textile fibre-composition information. The merchant remains responsible for the accuracy and legal compliance of the labels published in their store.
